One of the most misused terms of our time is racist. It’s a useless term because it’s only selective applied. Take Roosh’s latest post on why dating in D.C. sucks.
Roosh is Persian, and his chief wing man is black. Roosh’s regular rants are against fat women who wear flip-flips – which means white women.
At a bar last week, I had a “Roosh moment” – two, actually.
First, a fat girl wearing flip flips came up to me and said, “You’re cute.” All I could think was, “This girl is fat, and in flip flops. I need an iPhone 4 with a flash so I can photograph this specimen.”
My second Roosh moment came when I saw a man hooking up with her. “If men would stop hooking up with women who look like her, women would lose weight and dress more feminine.”
Although I haven’t been slumming in years, Roosh has made me philosophically committed to not rewarding bad female behavior. If you’re fat and go out to clubs wearing flip-flops, I will not reward you with my company. I would hook up with a girl who has a questionable face if her body is nice, however, because it’s not a girl’s fault if her face is slightly busted.
But I digress.
Roosh’s latest post noted that dating in D.C. sucks because, “There aren’t enough cute white girls for white men who don’t want to date minorities.”
Roosh, again, is not white. He’s Persian. He no doubt faces racial discrimination. Yet the Reddit geeks have taken to calling him racist, characterizing Roosh’s post as “’15 reasons why Washington DC sucks for guys,’ in which an unfunny, racist, misogynistic asshole wonders why he has trouble with women in our city.”
I would not dislike D.C.’s shortage of white women, as I myself am a racist. I really don’t care for white people. They are generally conformist and boring. White women want me to take them to wine bars to ring up $100 tabs. I like the idea of a wine bar, and last night at a 12 oz. rib eye (Prime), slabs of Manchego cheese, and slathered roasted almonds, walnuts, pecans, and almonds into refrigerated honey. I just don’t like wasting money, which is the white woman’s obsession.
White women, moreover, are conformist bores. Want to have something to discuss with a white woman? Ask her about Yoga, Pilates, cupcakes, Harry Potter, and Twilight. Thus, I entirely disagree with Roosh’s point. Take my white women, please.
Yet Roosh was simply offering a diverse perspective. A large subset of white men prefer dating white women. Again, this is stupid. Oh well, some people are stupid.
If we’re going to throw around the racist slur, however, then shouldn’t we note something important? Women – moreso than men - exhibit strong same-race preferences. A study of liberal college students revealed what anyone with eyes has already seen, namely, white girls do not like black guys, Persian guys, or any guys who aren’t white:
Consider “Racial Preferences in Dating,” a study of more than 400 graduate and professional students who participated in speed dating sessions at Columbia University organized by Raymond Fisman, Sheena S. Iyengar, Emir Kamenica and Itamar Simonson. The researchers conclude: “Even in a population of relatively progressive individuals who have self-selected into participation in a multi-cultural Speed Dating event, we observe strong racial preferences.”
“Women of all races exhibit strong same race preferences, while men of no race exhibit a statistically significant same race preference.”
Men are actually less racist than women, as it’s all pink on the inside. Yet Roosh’s post recognized that some white men do indeed prefer the company of white women. For offering this diverse viewpoint, he has been labelled a racist.
We can now conclude that racist doesn’t actually mean anything.
